Building skills, creating opportunities.
Competition is everywhere. Stores compete for our business, companies compete for new customers, we compete for jobs. And the competition is getting tougher. At no time has being on top of our game been more important.
At Kandu, we help to develop the skills and talents of people so they can function at the top of their game. We help people to successfully compete in the job market, but we also help people to reach vocational goals that might not be possible without the assessment, training, and coaching service of Kandu. Our end goal is to place clients into jobs with local employers. Our short-term goal is to provide paid training opportunities as a means to gaining employment skills.
Determine the best vocational paths for our clients.
What are people good at? What do they like? How can they best use their skills? What type of environment provides the best fit? Theses are the questions we answer through our assessment programs. Our objective is simple: to determine the best vocational paths for our clients. We accomplish this through the guidance of our certified assessment staff. Our clients are referred to us through schools systems, state- and county-funded agencies, private employers, and insurance companies. We determine transferable skills, identify aptitudes and interests, assess clients for higher levels of employment, and screen applications. We also assess jobs in order to match the necessary skills to the requirements or to recommend job modifications. Area businesses also use our assessment services to recruit and to improve the productivity, effectiveness, and job satisfaction rates of their employees.
Develop the skills that help our clients succeed.
We have a staff of job coaches who work with clients individually, in teams, and for a short time or over the course of several months. Employers can be confident that the workers they hire are backed by the expertise and dedication of our training staff.
We work with clients to improve their skill levels and expand their options. Many of our clients have little job experience and few successful work experiences, so we focus on ways to gain success. Work habits, attendance, communication skills, and professional behavior are some of the things we address.
Job coaches help clients master a range of jobs through modeling, hands-on teaching, and post-work evaluations. We work to develop portable job skills - from receptionist procedures to computer software training to light manufacturing - that clients may use in employment at Kandu or other businesses.
School-to work transition coaches provide students with the individual attention needed to prepare them for the future. We work on writing college applications and resumes, on developing job skills and building job experience. We help students leave school confident and directed toward their next accomplishments. Kandu also employs and trains students part-time while they are in school. Vocational and on-site job training is a major focus of this work. Once students are proficient at their jobs, we find opportunities where they can reach their highest employment potential.
